The Hearing

Wednesday, April 23, 7:00 pm 25 NIS

The CCA is pleased to present “The Hearing,” a play by Yonatan Levy and Shaked High School students from Kiryat Tivon. “The Hearing” is a satirical play based entirely on the highly publicized hearing of accusations against Adam Verete. Verete taught philosophy and Israeli studies at Ort High School, where one of his students recently sent a letter to the Minister of Education describing how Verete advocated that students not serve in the military and generally exhorted against the State of Israel. The letter was posted on the Facebook page of former minister Michael Ben Ari and led to wide media coverage ensued by a heated public debate.

“The Hearing” is the latest in the series of plays by Yonatan Levy and Shaked High School students. It follows “A Clarifying Talk” and “The Lesson,” which examine the tension between theater and education, as well as “Ghetto Riot“ and “Good Energy” that also turn theatrical gestures into a new form of political theater.

Performers: Liam Levanon, Shahar Mizrachi, Noa De Piccioto, Divonne Rozen
