“The Animal Within Me, From In Front and Before”: Raphael Zagury-Orly and Ariel Reichman

August 18 at 7:00pm

Inspired by Ariel Reichman’s exhibition, philosopher Raphael Zagury-Orly will discuss animals and the animalistic, in a conversation with Reichman. The time has come to look at animals looking at us, addressing us, asking “What?”, “Why?”, “When?”, “Where?”. Zagury-Orly suggests the possibility of novel moralities revolving around the question of animality, which would inevitably be linked to a renewal of the question of temporality. The presentation will deploy the “Law” of such new moralities and how this “Law” finds its actuality in art.

Raphael Zagury-Orly is a philosopher and the outgoing director of the MFA Program at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design.
