Wednesday, June 11 at 7:00pm Premier of Nir Evron’s Endurance
Join artist Nir Evron for the premier of his latest film work, Endurance, which completes his architectural trilogy. Endurance is based on the model apartment in Rawabi, Palestine’s largest building project, a residential gated community being built between Ramallah and Nablus. For this work, Evron deconstructed the architectural blueprints of the model apartment into surfaces that are turned into abstract images reminiscent of geometric abstraction from the early 20th century. Endurance continues Evron’s interest in the architecture of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and his research into the material and medium of the moving image. Endurance will be screened in 16mm film, along with Evron’s Oriental Arch (2009) and A Free Moment (2011) that were exhibited in his solo show at the CCA in 2011. The event will be followed by a Q&A with the artist.
