The CCA is pleased to present “Resort,” a new project by Ohad Meromi.
For “Resort” Ohad Memori has transformed the CCA gallery into an experimental installation and performance arena. In one gallery, five architectural models are displayed: a ferry, a border checkpoint, a hotel room, a beach, and an archeological site. These generic places of transition and transformation (often related to vacations as well as to immigration and refugees) correspond to a play written by Meromi meant to provide inspiration for other cultural producers to create new work. Their plays, dance performances, musical compositions, and performance works are being presented in the adjacent gallery space that will be altered into a flexible “black box.”
The various experimental events held in the “black box” are envisioned as rehearsals open to the public, some of which include participatory happenings. A wide range of activities are already planned for the space, including activities by the theatre and dance school, Bikurei Ha’Etim, and a project by musician Noam Enbar. Creative producers of all sorts are warmly welcome to participate by answering the open call.
