First Body Many: Performance by Iris Erez

Saturday, February 21, 9pm Pre sale: 50 NIS, 60 NIS on the show’s day.

The CCA is pleased to host “First Body Many,” a performance by choreographer and dancer Iris Erez. The work explores notions of the body as constantly changing; the body that contains many at once both, physically and metaphorically, the multi-body in all its forms, materialities, and “rawness.” The dancers don a variety of identities in order to investigate how daily life overtakes the creative process. The concept of the multi body is also manifested through the soundtrack, a polyphonic work comprised of the accumulation of many voices.

Iris Erez is an independent choreographer and dancer based in Tel Aviv. Since 2003, she has created multi-disciplinary work in collaboration with film directors, visual and video artists, live musicians, and opera singers including Anat Danieli, Ronit Ziv, Inbal Pinto, Arkadi Zaides, and Yasmeen Godder. Erez was part of the Octet improvisation group and played “Lady Macbeth” in “Macbeth” at Tmuna Theatre. She has won several awards from the Ministry of Culture, Bistrizki, Teva, and the National Lottery Fund for Culture. She holds a BA in psychology and art and a diploma in dance therapy.
