“Laurent Montaron: Replica” is the first solo exhibition by Laurent Montaron (*1972, Verneuil-sur-Avre, France; lives and works in Paris) in Israel and it includes existing works as well as two new commissions especially conceived for CCA’s ground floor and auditorium. Please join us for a tour in which the artist will discuss each piece and reveal pivotal elements behind the exhibition, which culminates with the premiere of his new film in the auditorium.

About the artist: Laurent Montaron is one of the most interesting voices of his generation and his work has been the subject of solo exhibitions at institutions such as Les Moulins de Paillard | Centre d’Art Contemporain in Poncé-sur-le-Loir, France, Fondation d’entreprise Ricard and Centre Pompidou in Paris, Mercer Union in Toronto, Kunsthaus Baselland in Basel, Institut d’art contemporain in Villeurbanne, France, FRAC Champagne-Ardenne in Reims, France and Kunstverein in Freiburg, Germany. His work has been included in group exhibitions such as “Eppur si Muove” at MUDAM in Luxembourg in 2015, “The Origins of Film” at Palazzo Grassi Pinault Collection in Venice in 2014, the 2014 Biennale of Sydney, the 2013 Venice Biennale, “Honey I Rearranged the Collection,” at the Petach Tikva Museum in 2013, “Open End,” Sammlung Goetz Collection at Haus der Kunst in Munich in 2012, the 2011 Biennale de Lyon, Performa 2011 in New York, “Reflections,” at Art Tower Mito in Ibaraki, Japan in 2010, “Foyer: Language and Space at the Border” at CAC in Vilnius in 2009, and “Dormir, Rêver et autres nuits” at CAPC in Bordeaux in 2006 among many others.
