Join Michal Baror for an in-depth artist talk during which she’ll outline how her projects transform objects into knowledge, and how the medium of photography plays a role in this process. Baror will be joined by interlocutor Yair Barak.
About the Speakers:
Michal Baror holds an M.A. in Fine Art from the Royal College of Art, London. She graduated with a BFA in Fine Art from the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, Jerusalem in 2008. Her work has been shown at venues including Narrative Project Gallery, London (2017); NURTUREart, New York (2016); Harold Washington College, Chicago (2015); the Petach Tikva Museum of Art (2015); Inverness 43 Gallery, London (2015); the Royal College of Art, London (2013); Victoria House, London (2013); Xhibit, Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna (2013); and the Tel Aviv Museum of Art (2013).
Yair Barak is an artist, curator, and lecturer. His oeuvre, raising questions of historiography, memory, and the boundaries of the medium of photography has been exhibited widely in Israel and Europe. In 2005 Barak established the Photography Department at Minshar School of Arts in Tel-Aviv and today chairs the Studio Arts program at Seminar Hakibutzim College.
