Art in the Digital Age: Exhibition Space

Sunday, July 14th 7:00pm

Program Organizers: Tsila Hassine & Rotem Ruff

This talk is the second in the “How Soon is Now?” series that examines the relationship between culture and technology.

The panel will focus on how developments in the media have led to the evolution of contemporary art’s exhibition and distribution. Panelists Annie Fletcher, Eyal Fink, and Hadas Zemer Ben-Ari will focus on how the accessibility of artwork and information in digital space allows viewers to take in artwork from afar, questioning whether physical presence in a gallery space is still necessary.

Each speaker will present their perspective on how art organizations – physical and virtual alike – are developing innovative strategies for exhibition and interpretation, and how institutions re-think their role in mediating contemporary culture.

Speakers:

Annie Fletcher – Curator, Van Abbemuseum, Eindhoven Eyal Fink – Senior Engineer, Google Israel Hadas Zemer Ben-Ari – Independent Experience Designer & Curator
