Please join us for a screening of Me After Dark by Iftach Illouz, followed by a conversation between journalist and historian Dr. Ofri Ilany, researcher and scholar Dr. Amal Ziv, and the filmmaker.

Me After Dark (2023) by Iftach Illouz is a short film that follows the alter-ego of the director as he goes out in the dead of night for sexual encounters with older men. Taking the form of a hybrid documentary, this film traces and recreates these encounters, which often ends up leading the director back to his familial environment – his mom and dad. Me After Dark is the recipient of the Best Student Film award in the Israeli Short Film Competition, at the 40th Haifa International Film Festival.

Me After Dark was written, directed, and produced by Iftach Illouz; cinematography by Tom Reichart; edited by Neta Amiram; sound design by Rotem Dror; online editing by Gal Eiser. The film was produced with the support of the Yehoshoua Rabinovitch Foundation, Tel Aviv – Israeli Cinema Project, and Minshar School of Art.

The film will be screened at CCA on Friday and Saturday, July 12 and 13 from 10:00am to 2:00pm as part of “out-of-office.”

Led by artists and CCA Tel Aviv-Yafo Office Manager Guy Bernard Reichmann and Content Manager Mona Benyamin, “out-of-office” is a series of events to be presented in the Marc Schimmel Multipurpose Gallery. Focused on time-based practices such as video, dance, and performance, and in line with the multidisciplinary mission of the Center, “o-o-o” was conceived as a way to nurture the domestic scene.
