The upcoming Saturday Kids Lab will focus on “inter-versions,” Radu Comșa’s solo exhibition currently on view at CCA Tel Aviv-Yafo. In the first part of the workshop, we will visit the exhibition which includes works by other artists that Comșa chose to host and exhibit, and to which he responded by creating new pieces that are also exhibited, thus creating an exhibition space that contains a series of pairs. While exploring the exhibition together we will ask: What is creative inspiration? How do artists engage in dialogue through art making? What happens to painting when it comes out of its boundaries and spreads into space or becomes a three-dimensional object? Following this exploration, we will do a hands-on activity inspired by the exhibition’s ideas. During this activity, the kids will use a range of materials to create three-dimensional painting, drawing and collage works that will respond to the works in the exhibition, and that way they will add a third link in this chain of inspirations driven by artistic dialogue.
