Initiated by Guy Bernard Reichmann and led by CCA Tel Aviv-Yafo Operations Manager Amy Sapan, alongside Content and Press Manager Shahar Mizrahi, “out-of-office” is a series of events presented in the Marc Schimmel Multipurpose Gallery. Focused on time-based practices such as video, dance, and performance, and in line with the multidisciplinary mission of the Center, “o-o-o” was conceived to nurture the domestic creative scene.

After presenting the first version of Pompeii at CCA Tel Aviv-Yafo in December 2023, multidisciplinary artist and performer Uri Duvdevani (*1989, Isreal; lives and works in Tel Aviv-Yafo) is back to the Center to present a new version of the same piece. Pompeii is an audio-visual journey that weaves together movement, text, and music. It delves into historical events and mythical stories, centering on the Roman city of Pompeii, which was destroyed in 79 AD by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius. This catastrophic event buried the city and froze it in time, turning its narrative into one of suspended history. In the performance, the eruption becomes a starting point for broader reflections on dichotomies such as abundance versus destruction, fate versus choice, and movement versus stillness.

This new version of Pompeii is created and performed by Uri Duvdevani; original score and sound design by Yarden Levi-Ellentuck; dramaturgy by Mica Kupfer; artistic advising by Guy Bernard Reichmann and Ido Feder; lighting by Yoel Peled and Rotem Levi; costume design by Bar Alon; stage by Uri Duvdevani and Itay Eden.

The piece premiered at the 2024 edition of Diver Festival in Jerusalem and supported by 'Between Heaven and Earth,' after being developed at CCA Tel Aviv-Yafo, where the first version premiered.
