Initiated by Guy Bernard Reichmann and led by CCA Tel Aviv-Yafo Operations Manager Amy Sapan, alongside Content and Press Manager Shahar Mizrahi, “out-of-office” is a series of events presented in the Marc Schimmel Multipurpose Gallery. Focused on time-based practices such as video, dance, and performance, and in line with the multidisciplinary mission of the Center, “out-of-office” was conceived to nurture the domestic creative scene.
For this session, choreographer Maayan Liebman-Sharon presents Intimacy, a new work developed through her ongoing exploration of physical and emotional closeness in dance. As someone who navigates multiple roles – choreographer, mother, wife, and daughter – Liebman-Sharon questions the nature of intimacy in personal and professional relationships. What conditions allow intimacy to emerge? What forms does it take in movement? And how does it translate into the shared language of the body? Through the collaboration with dancers Yulia Mejetskaya, Eyal Bromberg, and Itamar Glina, Intimacy investigates the tension between passion and longing, proximity and distance, connection and communication, presenting itself as an invitation to witness the delicate negotiation of presence between performers and within ourselves.
Intimacy was created in collaboration with dramaturgical consultant Itzik Giuli; soundtrack by Roi Becker and Liebman-Sharon and featuring original music by Becker and Alon Peretz; costumes by Liebman-Sharon, Glina, Bromberg, and Mejetskaya; artistic advising by Rachel Erdos.
The work was developed during a residency at JSKD in Ljubljana and at CCA Tel Aviv-Yafo; special thanks to Machol Shalem Dance House; Embassy of Israel in Slovenia; Cirkulacija 2 in Ljubljana; the Ministry of Culture; and the Choreographers’ Association.
Doors open at 19:00 and close at 20:00. No late entries.
