Close-Up with Dror Daum: Liquid Sky

“Liquid Sky” earned its title as an esoteric cult classic at the beginning of the 1980s. The movie is set in the New York underground scene during the Post-Punk and New Wave era, and according to the artist, came to represent a place less provincial and more free than Israel was at the time. The film portrays a nihilism, self-importance, and decadence that is at once also ridiculous.

Close-Up is a new series in which exhibiting artists present films that have influenced their practice.
