Thursday, June 25 at 6 pm

Furthermore, Benyamin will present the three main ideas behind the curatorial framework of the exhibition, which are the notion of “Appropriation” (in visual art), the etymology of the word translation “to carry across,” and the collision of word and image.

Please join Nicola Trezzi, CCA Tel Aviv Director and Curator, for a tour of our current exhibition “Sharif Waked: Balagan.” During the tour Trezzi, curator of the exhibition, will introduce the set of ideas that guided his dialogue with the artist, a dialogue that resulted in the selection of a specific group of works. This selection – which includes series such as “Arabesque,” “dot.txt,” “Tughra,” and “Just a Moment” – features pieces that have been “conceived” (a term that in this context becomes appropriate than “created”) by Waked over the last nine years.
