Rock, Paper, Video Art – A New-Media Event for the Entire Family
at the Center for Contemporary Art
Saturday, 2.2.2013, 10:00-16:00
The CCA is pleased to present “Rock, Paper, Video Art,” the first of its kind new-media family event. All three of the CCA’s floors will become a creative playground with unique happenings in video, installation, painting, and cinema for kids, parents, and grandparents alike.
On the ground floor participants will create a collective installation in which painting will be photographed and projected onto objects, so that the space will become a continuously evolving installation.
The second floor will have two activities:
Inspired by the work of Erwin Wurm, for “One-Minute Sculptures”kids will improvise sculpture that will be photographed and emailed to parents and friends.
For “Objects Soundtrack” kids will create a live soundtrack to silent films using improvised instruments as a way to play with sound and moving image simultaneously.
The top-floor auditorium will house “CC-Cinema” where family-appropriate silent films and video art will be screened.
The event is organized by artists and Betzalel graduates Eden Bannet and Tali Keren, who run the CCA’s children’s education program, and who believe that new media can and should talk and touch everyone, including little kids, by inspiring their curiosity and encouraging them to explore new ideas.
The event is free and visitors can come at any point during the day. Please RSVP via e-mail to: firstname.lastname@example.org
