Omphalopagus (Full Version)
The brothers Friedrich and Georg Schmetterling were born conjoined in the naval area in 1870 in a small village in Germany. Their musician father gave them a classical musical education and taught them how to play the violin and the cello. This story inspired a musical-theatrical piece that evaluates the distance between things that separate us and things that join us.
Two instrumentalists conjoined by a single string in the area of the naval. They are playing pieces that were composed especially for this instrument and serve as their means of communication and dialogue. Theatrical situations in which they are either one or two, situations ranging between harmony and love and a dual, are born from the music. In the course of the show, a female character appears, completing the triangle and expressing musically and theatrically the space and the freedom that were denied them.
