Beni Kori (Israel)
"Big Mouse (Na'ima)"
An autobiographical story is emerging from a suitcase full of Beni Kori's personal effects. Each object is
charged with a performance act that accompanies stations in the life of the artist and Na'ima, the maid that
raised him in Izmir. This depiction of a feminine via dolorosa emanates from memory, feelings of guilt, fear
of God, and death anxiety. This work is part of a series done in homage to women in puritan societies.
